Three photocopies of the minutes of the original survey of Kalamazoo village in book 111, pages 551 to 553 plus a two-page color laserprint of the Abstractor's non-legal drawing of the site. [See 2024.08.01 for a photo of same drawing.]

"The nonofficial Abstactor’s drawing of the village recorded in Allegan records to accompany the recopied minutes of the survey of the original plat of the village of Kalamazoo found in book 111, page 551 of deeds in Allegan. It’s a 1893 replacement to the files lost 1835 version in Kalamazoo, among those 200 pages missing from book B. It’s not the same as having an actual copy of the original plat map, but at least now we know the source of all those copies." - James T. This 1893 document describes the physical and legal boundaries of the Village of Kalamazoo, that was founded with the name Village of Newark by William G. Butler, and today is known as Saugatuck. This description was a replacement created when it was discovered that the Butler’s original 1835 plat was missing. The 1893 document is held by the Allegan Register of Deeds office in Allegan, Michigan.
