This 1893 document describes the physical and legal boundaries of the Village of Kalamazoo, that was founded with the name Village of Newark by William G. Butler, and today is known as Saugatuck. This description was a replacement created when it was discovered that the Butler’s original 1835 plat was missing. The 1893 document is held by the Allegan Register of Deeds office in Allegan, Michigan.
