Postcard

A fishing tug, possibly the Joann, "Mickey of Saugatuck," and a white, outboard motor boat are tied up at the Sewers docks. Fish boxes and the net boiler are visible at the left. Willow branches frame the top of the image. In the distance is the opposite bank of the Kalamazoo. Code K-6722 in the "Place stamp here" zone on the back. Unmailed, no writing. Color image on front and blue-ink only on back. Image is printed, not a photo. The text -- "Lusterchrome" Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. Made only by Tichnor Bros., Boston 15, Mass. -- divides the address half from the writing half on the back of the card. This image was featured as History Mystery #23 with the solution: The photo of the Sewers' boats and dock dates to the mid 1950s. The location is the waterfront of the present Coghlin Park.
