About the Event
Cost: Free
The History Center launches its new “On Location” series at The Butler Pantry, 439 Butler Street. The event features wine tastings and appetizers provided by Stephanie and Kevin Burt, owners of “West Michigan’s most distinctive gourmet kitchen store.” The Butler Panty is located in the historic Koning (later Wilkins) Hardware building. The Italianate brick structure was built in 1904 after the previous store was destroyed by fire. It had the village’s largest plate glass window and one of Michigan’s earliest counterweight elevators — available for photo ops during the event!
The History Center’s “On Location” series invites attendees to gather in unique spaces and places for an exclusive view of the area’s historical richness. This evening series pairs wine and refreshments with an informal and engaging history tour. Join us on select Thursdays this spring from March, April, to May to (re)discover historic cottages, businesses, and institutions across the Lakeshore area.
The initial event is free; a $100 subscription for the rest of the series will be on sale in March.
