Margo Hoff 1910 - 2008 Two Doves c. 1960 | Woodcut Print Notes: Margo Hoff was born into a large family in Oklahoma. She began drawing and painting when whe was 13 years old. Hoff was very diverse in production, excelling in woodcut, lithography, cassein, oil, watercolor, crayon, gouache, collage textiles and stained glass. Her most notable training was at the Chicago Institute of Art. Margo was married to artist George Buehr. Their daughter, Mia, was also became an artist. Hoff taught at the Ox-Bow Summer School of Painting in Saugatuck in the 1960s. This mid-century woodcut by Hoff is typical of her printmaking, which was extensive in the 40s and 50s.
