New Richmond and Klondike
Photograph
Five photos mounted on heavy, gray card. All have "New Richmond" and/or "Oct 1900" written on the back.
1. Riverboat Klondike docked beside a small gathering of buildings. "U.S. Mail" is painted on the boat's side wheel housing. "Klondike" is written on the back of the photo.
2. Large tents at a riverbank camping ground with rows of plank benches[?] in the foreground.
3. A large building, possibly a resort or mansion, with Tudor-style half-timber details and partially covered in vines.
4. A man, a woman and two children, likely boys, on the front porch of a building.
5. A woman sitting in a horse-drawn buggy with the same house as in photo 4 in the background.
The photos are in a manila envelope with a mailing label indicating they were mailed to Kit Lane from Alvord, Burdick & Howson LLC Consulting Engineers in Chicago.
A handwritten note on the envelope states "5 pix of New Richmond inc. riverboat Klondike - David Babbitt from 6464 119th Ave. Fenn."
