Roof shingles, slate

Previously, the shingles were packed in a cardboard box that disintegrated.

Note from All Weener says slates are from original Saugatuck Pump House roof. The building was constructed in 1904. Dr. William Shorey, who converted the Pump House into a cottage, installed a new asphalt shingle roof in 1974.
