DescriptionAccording to Jim Schmiechen in "Raising the Roof" first ed., pg. 104, "William Simmons took this photo in July of 1954 and gave it this title. Exact location is unknown." Photo depicts a shed-size building with a front-gable roof, a single door, a single, double-hung window and brick chimney. The building is covered in siding material with a faux-brick pattern (like Insulbrick that was popular in the 1930s and 1940s). The door is open has has something pale and ragged attached over what would have been the window area. Through the open door, light can be seen shining through the gaps in the siding on the back wall. Grasses and plants have overgrown the site but the unpaved road and cement sidewalk in front of the hand-powered Shell gas pump is clear. Many wooden-plank structures peep between the shrubs and trees on the edges of the site.
