The Lane family, at 41 Spring Street, Douglas, had a tree house for kids in a big willow tree between the Quonset hut and the garage off the alley behind the Douglas Bakery. Unfortunately beer trucks making deliveries at the bakery would sometimes bump it (and eventually caused its demise) and so kids in the tree house used to really scramble when they saw a big truck turn into the alley."
