02 front - Newspaper clipping: "Digs Up Interesting Life of Ludington's Original Life-Station Head", The Daily News, Ludington, Michigan, 3 May 1941 - story about Captain Joshua Brown's service and the 1879 saving of the schooner Mercury that was grounded near Pentwater with the help of Captain Burt Smith of the steambarge Magnet.

11 front - Newspaper clipping from the March 27, 1884 Leamington Post, Ontario, "Memoir of the late Henry Brown" who was born 1785 and died 11 March at residence of son Jesse T. Brown, near Leamington. The article describes the mayhem of the war of 1770 in Fiskill, Duchess County, New York and other conflicts as well as Henry Brown's ancestry. One photocopy of the clipping is pasted to the scrapbook pages, the other is loose.
